BRUMA ARTISTS
Some of this group of artists are born in South Africa, others have their roots in Zimbabwe. They are ‘wire artists’ and they make beadwork. They learned their techniques from family and love to be busy making art. It helps them to deal with difficult situations. Most of them have children and with the money they make from selling their art, they want to secure a good education for their children.
We've been exploring South Africa together in September 2010 and we've met many people who make the most beautiful products. These people are living in several townships and they are using their talents to improve their quality of life. They are true artists who do not have the opportunities that we have in the Netherlands.
